Ragi Idli

A healthy breakfast option when you wanna avoid intake of rice. Ragi idlis are as tasty as the regular idlis and filling as well.

Ingredients
  • Idli rice - 1 cup
  • Urad dal - 3/4th cup
  • Ragi flour - 1 cup
  • Fenugreek seeds - 1/4 tsp
Preparation
  • Soak Urad dal and fenugreek seeds in a vessel and idli rice in another separately. Leave it for 2-3 hrs.
  • After 2-3 hrs grind urad dal & Fenugreek mixture into paste then add the idli rice and grind into a smooth batter.
  • Transfer it into a container, mix the ragi flour and mix well. Let it not be too thick or too watery but in Idli batter consistency. Add salt. Let it ferment for the next 8-10hrs.
  • Take Idli stand, pour water, grease the idli plates lightly with oil, pour the batter and steam cook for 20 minutes.
  • Serve the healthy steaming hot idlis with chutney of your choice.! :)
